Woodbury City Council members are elected officials, but celebrities, too?

At least that’s what "Alfred the Autograph Collector" from Germany called them in his recent e-mail to the council. One would think Freddy either got his e-mail addresses mixed up — or has found a way to scam folks by obtaining their signature.

In any event, the e-mail is the strangest that the Bulletin has seen sent to the council in recent months.

Here’s the e-mail:

Dear celebrity,

May I kindly ask you to send me one or two hand-signed autographs.

I am an enthusiastic collector of autographs for many years and would be delighted to increase my collection with your photo and signature.

Thank you in advance for your effort, and much luck and success in the future.
