The Friday night card in local athletics is highlighted by the matchups between East Ridge and Woodbury in both boys and girls basketball.
While the Royals and Raptors girls squads have already met this season, with Woodbury claiming the victory back in December, tonight’s WHS/ERHS boys showdown is the inaugural game between the two neighboring programs.
Each of the four squads that will hit the court tonight have had varying degrees of difficulty during their respective 2009-10 campaigns. However, the next chapter in the burgeoning rivalry between the schools old and new promises to bring fans of both programs — with some rooting for both institutions — into both "The Lion’s Den" and "The Raptors Perch" for a highly-anticipated and spirited evening of competition.
Both contests tip off at 7:15 p.m., with East Ridge hosting the girls game and Woodbury accomodating the boys contest.
