Afton
I stopped by Afton City Hall Wednesday, Dec. 30 to talk with Mayor Pat Snyder about Afton’s 2010 goals, and there was quite the scene awaiting when I arrived.
The office has been closed since last Wednesday for city staff to perform annual reviews and organization, so to the outside public, city hall appeared to be quiet. But indoors, city hall was quite alive.
Greeting me at the door was office manager Connie Slaten and her friendly black and white dog. Slaten’s happy little canine wasn’t the only one in city hall with a look of excitement on their face; interim city administrator Jim Norman was abuzz with excitement and nerves as he came running down the stairs.
Norman was dressed to the nines in a tuxedo, which seemed a little odd, until I learned he was set to get married two hours later. Stopping by the office on your wedding day. That’s what I call dedication.
Just another interesting day at Afton City Hall.
